About Dr. Iyer

Ravi R. Iyer, MD. Four decades of medicine.

Internal medicine physician, clinical researcher and founder of Iyer Health — caring for Northern Virginia patients in Herndon and Sterling since 1997.

Ravi R. Iyer, MD

42 years of medicine. One standard: yours.

Dr. Ravi R. Iyer is an internal medicine physician with 42 years in medicine and science. He trained at Nalanda Medical College and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in India, completed research fellowships at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School, and his residency in internal medicine at George Washington University Medical Center.

He founded The Iyer Clinic in 1997 and has cared for Northern Virginia families ever since — today as founder and CEO of Iyer Health, which brings insurance-based primary care and the direct-pay CheckUp USA Longevity program under one roof. He still sees patients himself, alongside a team that knows each patient's history.

Over the same years he chaired the Department of Medicine at Reston Hospital Center, served nine years as a hospice medical director, and led ten industry-sponsored clinical trials as a site principal investigator. He directs clinical research for Nova Health and, since 2022, for Loudoun Medical Group. He is a member of the Greater Washington Association of Physicians from India.
